Tyler began his academic career at Columbia University, graduating with a B.A. in Economics and History. While at Columbia he was involved in various political organizations.

He then attended Fordham University School of Law, where he earned his J.D. At Fordham he was an active member of the Urban Law Journal, writing a note analysing the effects of Dodd-Frank on the mortgage market, and took part in the Fordham Criminal Defense Clinic, representing low income clients in Manhattan Criminal Court under the supervision of the clinic professors.

Tyler is the principal of the Law Offices of Tyler A. Trumbach, P.A. He handles a wide variety of cases and focuses on complex civil litigation and criminal defense.
